I undertake freelance projects every year, based more on my interest in the project than on money (although, to expand Dr. Johnson’s quote, no man but a blockhead ever wrote or edited, except for money). I consider proposals involving both editing and writing, but as I indicated, they must involve challenging/interesting work, whether fiction or nonfiction, text only or multimedia. Except for longtime friends and family, I seldom agree to requests for pure copyediting. I am particularly interested in helping young writers who are trying to make their journalistic or literary mark in the world.
